Who is pottery painting for?
Pottery painting is for anyone who wants to slow down, unwind, and spend a peaceful couple of hours creating something unique.
You don't need an artistic background or "talent" to make something beautiful. Once you choose your piece and start painting, time simply melts away. It’s one of the best ways to quiet a busy mind and focus on the present moment.
From families with young children (5+) and couples on date days, to solo travelers and digital nomads taking a laptop break — everyone is welcome. We provide all the tools, tips, and encouragement you need!
I want to switch off and relax. Is this the right thing?
That's exactly what most people come for. There's something calming about sitting down with a brush and no agenda for two hours. No phone, no rush, nobody watching over your shoulder. Grab a coffee, put some paint on ceramic and let your head go quiet for a while.
I’ve never done this before. Will someone show me what to do?
Of course! We start with a quick rundown of how the paints and tools work. Plus, our team is always floating around to offer tips, tricks, or a helping hand whenever you need it.
How long is a session?
A session is 2 hours, but don't worry if you need a bit extra time because there's a bit of a buffer between classes.
What if I don't know what to paint?
We’ve got you covered. We have tons of inspiration tucked away in the studio, from samples to stencils. If you want to brainstorm early, take a peek at our Instagram or Pinterest for a dose of Vitamin Creativity!
What's the minimum age to paint ceramics?
Our sweet spot is around 5 years and older (with a guardian to help guide the brush!). From age 12, kids are free to drop in and create independently. If you’re looking for a fun way to bond, our parent-child sessions are a great place to start!
When can I pick up my ceramics?
We hand-glaze every piece to ensure a professional, food-safe finish. Your art will be ready to collect in one week, and we’ll shoot you an email the moment it’s out of the kiln. In a hurry? We offer an Express Service (48-hour turnaround) for an extra 15€ per piece.
Is there a chance to get the pottery sooner?
Yes, if you are in a rush to get your art sooner we are happy to offer a "quick-fire" service for an extra fee of 15€ per piece. Just let us know when you're in the studio and we'll do our best to help you
How does the pricing work?
Your booking includes a 10€ studio fee, that covers tools, paints, hand-glazing and firing your piece as well as support during your 2h pottery painting session and a 10€ voucher to pick out your pottery in the studio! If your chosen piece costs more than the 10€ voucher, you can simply pay the balance at the end of your session.
What is there to do on Fuerteventura when there's no wind or no waves?
Flat day, no wind for kiting, nothing to surf? That's when our studio gets busy. Two hours of painting is the perfect way to fill a day off the water — relaxed, no experience needed, and you leave with a piece of ceramic instead of just another beach day. Plenty of surfers and kitesurfers end up here on the days the forecast lets them down.
What can you do on Fuerteventura when it rains or the weather is bad?
Come paint with us. Our studio is indoors, so the weather outside doesn't matter — rain, wind, or too much sun, you're covered either way. It's one of the few things to do in the north of Fuerteventura that works on a grey day, and you go home with something you made yourself.
How can I pay?
We like to keep check-out quick and easy so you can spend maximum time creating! We accept all major cards (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro) and contactless mobile payments (Apple Pay, Google Pay). Please note that we are a cashless studio and cannot take cash payments.
Is my pottery dishwasher and microwave safe?
While our ceramics are technically dishwasher-safe, we always recommend hand washing to keep them looking their best. This prevents "crazing" (tiny little cracks in the shiny surface) and ensures your masterpiece lasts a lifetime. One quick heads-up: Please keep your pieces out of the microwave!
I’m not happy with my finished piece—now what?
We don't offer refunds for handmade results, as every piece is a one-of-a-kind creation. That said, we want you to be proud of what you made! If you're disappointed, come talk to us. We’ll help you understand the process better and make sure you feel confident and inspired for your next painting session.
I’m not artistic at all—is this still for me?
100%! You don’t need to be Picasso to walk out with something you’re proud of. In fact, some of our favorite pieces come from people who claim they "can't even draw a stick figure." We have plenty of "cheat codes" like stamps, stencils, and masking tape that do the hard work for you. We’ll show you all the tricks!
Do you offer "To-Go" kits?
We sure do! If the studio is full or you just prefer your own space, you can order your paint-at-home kit here. We’ll prep your kit for pickup, and you can bring your masterpiece back to us for firing whenever you're finished!
Is there parking nearby?
Yes, there is plenty of free parking nearby. If you are coming from Lajares, it is best to park near the football field before turning right towards the studio, then walk the last few metres.
What if I can’t make it?
Life happens, and we totally understand! If you need to reschedule, simply use the link in your confirmation email — just make sure to do it at least 48 hours before your session. Changes requested less than 48 hours in advance will unfortunately count as a no-show, and we're unable to offer refunds or vouchers. Any questions? Do I need to book in advance or can I just walk in?
Booking is required — we can't take walk-ins. Our sessions run on set days and places are limited, so grab your spot online before you come. If you're not sure which day works, message us on WhatsApp or Instagram and we'll help you find one.
What can I paint and what does it cost?
Our ceramic pieces start at 10 €. You pick yours in the studio, and your booking already includes a 10 € voucher towards it. If the piece you fall for costs more, you just pay the difference at the end.
Can you ship my pottery if I leave before it's ready?
We don't ship, but there's a better option: our Quick-Fire service. For 15 € extra per piece we glaze and fire your work within 48 hours, so you can pick it up before you fly home. Just let us know when you're in the studio and we'll sort it out. If your trip is really short, tell us when you book and we'll make sure it works.
Is this a good activity after surfing or a yoga session?
Perfect fit. It's low-key, you're sitting down, and it doesn't ask anything of your body. A lot of our guests come in after a morning in the water or a yoga class, when they want to keep the day going but not do anything strenuous. If you run a retreat or surf camp, we also put together group sessions — just get in touch.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, dogs are welcome. Bring them along and they can keep you company while you paint.
Do you serve coffee or drinks?
We do — coffee, tea and soft drinks. Painting goes better with something in the cup next to you.
What languages do you speak?
German, English and Spanish — so whichever of the three you're most comfortable in, we've got you.
Will I get my clothes dirty?
Our paints wash out, so a splash on your sleeve is nothing to worry about. Still, we'd skip the brand-new white shirt — painting gets hands-on.
Where exactly are you and how do I get there?
We're at C. Guillermo Gutiérrez 12 in El Cotillo, in the north of Fuerteventura. There's plenty of free parking nearby: coming from Lajares, park near the football field before turning right towards the studio, then walk the last few metres.
